Coming out of the shadows: new FSB Directorate head Ivan Meshchan spotted at youth games a month after bureaucratic coup
The head of the FSB Directorate for the Yaroslavl Region has changed without any publicity.
Maxim Denisov was replaced by Ivan Meshchan. Why without publicity? Because Denisov was appointed to this post only in April and was actively introduced to residents by Governor Mikhail Yevrayev.
The new head appeared as early as August 28, but without any publicity. And on October 1, he stepped out into the public eye—speaking at the Zarnitsa.Dynamo military-sports game. The question immediately arises: where did Denisov go, and why did he hold the position for only four months?
His resignation coincided with the emergence of information about the detention of Denisov’s predecessor as head of the FSB Directorate, Alexander Kumanyayev, who transferred from the region to the Central Apparatus of the FSB of the Russian Federation. According to the prevailing version, Kumanyayev handed over to Denisov all established channels for providing protection (kryshevanie) to major developers. As a result, both of them got burned on this. One lost his freedom, the other his post.
